The Call to Jerusalem - God of the Breakthroughs - God’s Salt Covenant

"Who is there among you of all his people? His God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.

And whoever remains in any place where he sojourns, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.

Ezra 1:3,4

Ezra and the exiled families of Israel received King Cyrus' invitation with gladness! I can almost hear their heart's leap for joy in these prophetic words:

Behold, this is our God and we have waited for Him, and He will save us...We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation!

Isaiah 25:9

Perhaps your heart also resonates to the call to see an altar of worship restored with praise to the true and living God in your personal lives, families, and cities.

Across the globe God is touching hearts regarding his end-time purposes to restore Jerusalem, giving new hearts and spirits to the sons and daughters of Israel, rededicating them as altars of worship and praise, spoken of throughout the prophets. Ez.11:19

According to His promise, not only are the Jewish people being physically restored to the land of Israel, God is also raising up the ancient tent of David which in its time produced psaltery in continuous thanksgiving and praise with prayer 24-hours a day here in Jerusalem.

In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and repair its breaches, and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old.

Amos 9:11

Implicit within this prophetic declaration is an invitation to come alongside God's purposes for these days, extended to all the family of God including builders, musicians, intercessors, warriors and worshippers to supply what part they can to help restore Jerusalem, as forerunners going beforehand with a ministry of building up worship and prayer before the Lord wherever you may sojourn.

Also the sons of the foreigner who join themselves to the LORD, to serve Him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be His servants-Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, and holds fast My covenant-even them I will bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.

Isaiah 56:6-8

A dramatic picture emphasizing the importance of the LORD's command to us of His household to watch and pray expecting angelic aid is illustrated in one of David's battle accounts described in 2 Samuel 5:20-25.

When David inquired of the Lord, he and his men were instructed to take their position, watching and listening for the sound of a going (or marching) in the tops of the mulberry trees, for then the Lord would go out before them in battle, breaking forth upon their enemies.

This account describes an unseen spiritual amphitheater of angelic hosts engaging spiritual enemies as a prerequisite hand in hand to David and his men defeating physical enemies. Notably, following a previous victory wrought by the "breaking forth" of the LORD in the same area, David memorialized this place of God's deliverance as Baal Pratzeem, Lord of the Breakthroughs in spiritual and physical warfare.

Micah 2:12,13 prophecies of God's power as a Deliverer manifested in a future regathering of the remnant of Israel.

I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of you; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men. The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.

We can participate with watching over God's promised Word, asking him to perform it, restoring the remnant of Israel back to His land pledged by covenant to their forefathers - the national homeland of Israel, God's very own possession.

God our Provider, YEHOVAH YIREH (The LORD-It/He Shall Be Seen) issues our personal call and promises to be our Provider where He sends us.

God established a covenant of salt with the sons of Aaron, Levites and priests, His ministers who were without a physical inheritance in the land of Israel, for He was to be their inheritance. This salt covenant promised them a faithful provision of food from the best of the tenth of the tenth/tithe given to the storehouse of God as recorded in Numbers 18:19-32.

For all those who receive a call by God to minister to Him and the assembly, we can thank Him, calling upon Him for His faithful covenant of salt to provide for and sustain all in His holy ministry.

The Lord God of Israel also confirmed this covenant of faithfulness with David, giving the kingdom over Israel to David forever, even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt as recorded in 2 Chronicles 13:5.

Salt is symbolic of a faithful expression to God and to others. According to Leviticus 2:13 all offerings to God are to be offered with salt - a faithful expression coming from within. God calls us to give our very lives voluntarily as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God as our reasonable act of worship. Rom. 12:1 We can expect God's passionate fire to enter within us for our God is an all consuming fire and our lives a burnt sacrifice offered to Him.

For everyone shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

Mark 9:49

If God is calling you to offer a sacrifice of praise, prayer, or an offering to Him within the Jerusalem Prayer Tower, we along with JPT staff are available to enable this service, bringing great blessing. Welcome!
