Clal Yofi

There’s an amazing verse in Psalm 50 that says, “From Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth.” In the original Hebrew – it says “Clal yofi” which translated is “perfection of beauty”!

In this building complex, called “Clal” where we have seen the transformation of both the Pavilion and the Prayer Tower, the sounds of jackhammers, drills and stonecutters can still be heard! The once-empty elevators are now packed, and the other days as my husband mentioned this to a visiting pastor while on a full elevator, an Israeli lady overhead the comment, pointed to him and said, “You people brought us good luck!” Wayne laughed and said, “I’d prefer to call it a blessing.”

Yes, there’s a buzz out there. Changes are in the air, and floor by floor, the office complex is undergoing renovation. There are lawyers, judges, police – all sorts of professionals returning to the Clal building. This place, notorious for being cursed (Clala), is now being transformed into a “Clal Yofi”!

When Hebrew-speaking visitors come and see the Pavilion for the first time, they always exclaim “Eizeh-yofi!” – how beautiful! Many have come to the Prayer Tower “by accident” and been strangely warmed by the beautiful atmosphere of worship and prayer. They look out over the city at the magnificent view and say, “Eizeh-yofi!” Some just stand and listen; some have asked if we can teach them “how to pray”. Some ask what we are praying about, singing about. Others linger in the corridors and pray in their own way. This will only increase!

Is there anything new about God displaying His redeeming nature by doing it to a place? A land? A city? He’s been in that business for a long time now. When He moves in, things change! We’ve only seen the tip of the iceberg. As places undergo redemption, so will communities, nations, and lives.

We get to be a part of this process! To pray it into being – praying God’s very Word overlooking His city. We get to speak it in loving and gracious ways, bringing hope, giving food to the hungry, water to the thirsty. We get to live it, drawing men to Him simply by living for His glory!

Let’s place ourselves at His feet as living sacrifices, to be mobilized for our various positions and tasks in God’s great end-time transformation project!
