Prayers For Today

“Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold the darkness shall cover the earth and deep darkness the people. But the Lord will arise over you and His glory will be seen upon you.” Isaiah 60:1-2

  1. Praise for the prophetic scriptures from Isaiah 60 for Israel’s 60th birthday, prophesying “foreigners building up the walls” of this nation.

Shir1 (One Song) is a national Hebrew worship gathering for the emerging generation of Israeli Believers. The first Shir1 was held in a night club called “City Hall” in Haifa on January 27th. We hardly have the words to express our excitement about this ministry!

A night club may seem like a strange place to host a worship gathering. The people running the establishment looked exactly like the kind of people you’d expect to see running a night club. Yet when Jess Cantelon, our Young Adults Pastor, went into “City Hall” and was introduced to the owner, the scary-looking manager, and the sound and lighting technicians, they all shook his hand with eyes that said “Hello, friend”. Their mouths were open in wonder all night and they had soft mushy hearts. Some are coming to the next Shir1 in Tel Aviv and another is hooking-up with a congregation in Haifa. One of these men said it was so refreshing to see people full of life. He said that nobody cares about anything anymore.

Recently “City Hall” hosted one of the world’s biggest rapcore (rock music) bands, Rage Against the Machine. Juxtaposed to this image, the first Shir1 was packed with more than 300 Jewish Yeshua worshipers – who are, in a way, the first-born in Zion as children of immigrant parents. What an awesome privilege it is to be alive to witness these days.

Here’s a promotion video (in Hebrew) for the next Shir Echad, to be held in Tel-Aviv, with footage from Haifa’s event.
