  Yeshua said in Matthew 16:18, "... I will build My Church (the Greek word is ekklesia [assembly]), and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it!"  What was His strategy in laying the foundations of His Church?  It was to make disciples. For most of Yeshua's public ministry for 3 and ½ years, He focused on teaching and training those who would become His disciples. He invested His Word and life into the 70 (referred to in Luke 10:1) and others who left all to follow Him (There were 120 in the Upper Room on the Day of Pentecost who were committed to Him.).  He spent additional time with the 12 who were called to be apostles.  Yeshua showed them how to have a relationship with the Father, taught them the ways of God's Kingdom, and exampled a life of holiness before them.
