Angus Buchan at the Pavilion
On Wednesday, 6 October, we had the privilege of hosting well-known farmer-turned-evangelist Angus Buchan from South Africa. His miraculous life-story is told in the movie "Faith Like Potatoes." He came to address the pastors and spiritual leaders of Israel as a response to an invitation from Linda Morris of Dodi Yavoh and King of Kings Community.
Uncle Angus, as he is affectionately called, opened his message by saying, "Jesus is not only coming back soon; He is on His way!" Then he proceeded to give a strong message calling leaders back to their First Love.
God took Angus out of a very busy international ministry in 2003 to return to his First Love and to mentor men. He now holds Mighty Men conferences on his farm in South Africa where hundreds of thousands of men gather to worship and be inspired by his messages. Most of his teachings are basic to godly family life. He says, "Strong families make strong nations. Revival starts in the home. Men, be a man! Be the type of husband that your wife can submit to! Love your wife! Be a man she can respect! ... Don't antagonize your children; raise them to love and fear the Lord!"
Angus is refreshingly candid about his love for Yeshua. He asked, "Is Yeshua the Lord of your heart? How long did you spend with the Lord today? Ten minutes, half an hour? That's not long enough! You can't expect to know Him if you don't spend time with Him! You must have fresh manna daily! Do only what Yeshua tells you to do - no more and no less. Don't work so long and hard that you neglect the Lord of the work!"
He also spoke openly about his love for Jerusalem and for the Jewish people. He said, "I don't know how you can love Jesus and not love his people. My Lord and best friend is a Jew."
In 2011, Uncle Angus has booked eight of the World Cup stadiums in South Africa to be used for major outreaches. Let's pray for those events!
