A Good Report From Jerusalem
On June 1, 2006, the Pavilion Prayer Tower in downtown Jerusalem was dedicated on the eve of the Spring Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost). The Prayer Tower dedication was not only exceptional, itself, but a catalyst for so much more.
Messianic leaders of congregations and ministries from throughout Israel attended a reception before the launching of the Prayer Tower, and were blessed that one of the main focuses of the Upper Room of prayer would be interceding for their work in the land.
As the dedication ceremony was about to begin, there was an excitement in the air that the Lord had brought together believers from the nations and locals in Israel to pray together—a crying out to God that would be felt on the streets of Jerusalem! The Pavilion sanctuary was filled with Jews and Gentiles united in worship, and we could feel that something special was at hand.
Through video streaming, the Pavilion sanctuary downstairs and the Prayer Tower upstairs became one unified dwelling of the Lord’s Holy Spirit! Those few who had the privilege of being in the Upper Room of the Prayer Tower took their “watch”, interceding and praising the Lord together, while others did the same in the Pavilion sanctuary. There was the sense that the prayers of the saints offered to God Almighty were rising from the depths of the building, through the roof, into the skies above, and into heaven itself!
There were moments that touched many of the believers in a deep way. When the song, “Save Your People” was sung, the melody filled expectations of all who came to the dedication. Collectively, the song brought together a desire in hearts to entreat the Lord, believing that He would soon pour out His Spirit upon Israel, take away the veil that blinds eyes, and reveal Messiah to His people.
The torah reading of the scrolls seemed appropriate on this unique holiday of Shavuot, blending the Word of God with the desire of more of His Spirit to come upon the land, bringing a sense of the “unity of the Spirit, and the bond of peace” to the Body of Messiah in Israel. Collectively, prayers were recited in Hebrew, honoring the Lord during one of the three most important biblical festivals of the year, when the Jews come up to Jerusalem to celebrate the feasts, as commanded by God in the Holy Scriptures.
There was great thankfulness for His faithfulness in the completion of this “wall of prayer” in His holy city and in His Promised Land during “such a time as this”. In that extraordinary moment, we remembered not only the law given by God to Moses and through Moses to the Jewish people, we also remembered that His Word dwells among us now, and we are grateful that He sent His Son Yeshua to bring salvation and eternal life to Israel and to the whole world.
When the ceremony ended, believers came through to walk along the corridors of the Prayer Tower and intercede for Israel and the nations. The fire of the sunset lingered on, and the lights of the city glistened. It was a beautiful night, and it was as if the prayers and praise of the saints reached the streets below, when individuals took their place along “the wall”. (Isaiah 62:6-7).
That evening, divine connections were made in an exchange of encouragement and a sense that this was just the beginning of a special move of God in Israel, a full harvest season coming, as committed believers from the nations, like Ruth with Naomi, join their hearts to the whole household of Israel.
This was the “first fruits” of the Body of Messiah, in the corridors of the Prayer Tower, the internationals and locals coming together, praying for Israel, praying for the nations, praying for God to release salvation and healing upon the people of this land and throughout the earth.
The watches in the Upper Room continue today, and there is such a yearning and drawing to the Lord of those who have found their way to that special place to pray and worship.
Many have thanksgiving in their hearts for all God has done. They are keeping their set time along the wall, worshipping and praying in the presence of the Lord, and in the Spirit of His Holiness.
A dwelling place is being provided for the God of Israel to show forth His Glory, and shine upon this nation. It is a new beginning of waiting on the Lord, along with the global corporate Body of believers, in anticipation of what He will do in our midst in the days, weeks, and months ahead.

May the Nation of Israel Live!
