Redeemed in Zion

March Update

RIZ

Redeemed in Zion seeks to help new immigrants from congregations throughout the land, make the transition to life in Israel by assisting with basic appliances. It is a privilege to bless many lives in this way and here are a few of their stories...

In the first week of March, Redeemed In Zion (RIZ) travelled to the coastal city of Ashdod and helped seven families from congregations in that city and the neighboring city of Ashkelon.

One of those helped, was an immigrant from Russia, who was in a tragic accident less than a year ago where he lost his leg.  He received much support from a Messianic congregation in the neighboring city of Ashdod when he was sent there for treatment, and ended up moving there when he got out of the hospital. His only means of income is from Israel's Social Security benefits, and he could not afford to buy a fridge. He was very thankful to God and to those who donated to this ministry and allowed God to use them, to bless him with the gift of a fridge, supplied by Redeemed In Zion.

Another family of immigrants from Russia, have seven children ranging in age from six to eighteen, and the mother is the only one that is employed at this time.. They naturally have many financial struggles, and recently were faced with another hardship when their stove broke down and could not be repaired. When our RIZ team met with the mother to give her a new stove she was very appreciative and so happy that she had a way to cook for her family again.

Three of the families we were able to help on this trip were single parent families with small children. Two of them received stoves, and the other, a washing machine. They were all very grateful, recognizing that "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." (James 1:17) And we in turn thank all those who contribute to this practical work of the kingdom and help us to be His hands extended.
