“So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:46-47
As a congregation, we long to see God do big things here in our city of Jerusalem. The Lord calls us to be lights throughout the city.
There is a blessing in coming together for a large central weekly celebration of Yeshua (the name of Jesus in Hebrew), who is our great Light. But there is also a need for us to come together in smaller settings where each of us will be exhorted to grow in our walk with the Lord and enabled to find, develop and use the gifts that God has placed within us. We therefore meet in a central lighthouse right down town in small groups weekly at the community center for a midweek gathering with food, fellowship and sharing, or in other lighthouses throughout the city found in our homes.
In times of uncertainty there is a crucial need for us to draw one to another and to have Miklatim (shelters) in our neighborhoods and in the center of the city, where believers can gather in small groups. These small groups, whether in the form of Community Night Groups, Home Groups, Prayer Meetings, Women’s meetings, Young Adults, Youth or Children’s Meetings, provide a warm environment in which to develop. There each member of the congregation can be encouraged to move forward in their walk.
As the Lord guides us in big things in our small groups, these riches will flow to other areas within our neighborhood and in the city as a whole.
“You are the light of the world… Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14, 16
We have just launched a new series called “Back 2 Acts II” where we are focusing on building a compelling community and establishing greater degrees of discipleship. Our Sunday message is followed up midweek during Community Night and in our Home Groups with a hands-on, practical approach for participants to take out with them…
